Handmade Guitars by Bob Gramann

The Rapidan
The Rapidan is a 14-fret parlor guitar (similar to the size O).  Like all of my small guitars, its tone is loud and rich.  It's very easy and enjoyable to sit around picking one of these.

130 - Back and sides Osage Orange.  Engelmann Spruce top.  Macassar Ebony fingerboard, EIR Bridge and peghead veneer.  Cherry neck.  The binding is Osage Orange separated from the sides by holly strips.  EVO frets.  1 13/16" nut. 2 5/16" spacing at the bridge. A loud and full sound. K&K Pure mini pickup installed.

161- "Black All Over" Oregon Sitka top.  Black Locust back, sides, fingerboard, bridge.  Black Walnut binding, neck, and other trim. 1 13/16" nut.
2 5/16" spacing at the bridge.  With the exception of the Sitka Spruce bracing, all of the wood in this guitar came from the lower 48 states.  This one requires extra light strings only.  With the extra light strings, the low action, and the high frets, this one is extremely easy to play.   It provides a big sound from a small guitar.
